God is passionate about His global glory. At Calvary, we are passionate about making His glory know to unreached people living throughout the world.
We have embraced the nations through global missions for over 100 years as part
of the North American Baptist family of churches. We support missionaries and ministries bringing the life-changing message of the Gospel to places where there
is no church, no access to the Bible, and no worship of the greatest, most powerful name there is -- the name of Jesus.
We desire to be faithful to take Christ’s name to the nations, by prayerfully and strategically joining Him where He is at work, both here and around the world.
There are more than 2 billion people, or 1 out of 4 people, living in the world today who have not only never heard of Jesus, they have no access to the Gospel and no chance at hearing the Good News of Christ.
To learn about all our missionaries and global partners, we offer a prayer guide highlighting the work of all of our missionaries, so we can pray as a church for gospel-breakthroughs among those who have yet to hear. Here are a few highlights of some of our missionaries around the world:
In Ethiopia, we’re working with Wycliffe missionaries Travis and Andrea Williamson. They are working on a translation project to give the Gumuz people the New Testament in their own language.
In India, the country with the highest number of unreached people groups, we’ve adopted an unreached people group. With no access to schools in this mountainous region, many parents are sending their children to a Christian school where they are hearing the Gospel. For the last 10 years, Calvary has been providing the tuition for 15 students to attend the school each year. Many have decided to follow Christ and are telling their parents about Jesus.
In Japan where about 1 percent of the population are professing Christians, we’re working with NAB missionaries and church planters Paul & Melissa Ewing. They’ve served there as church planters for 20 years.
In Brazil, we formed a partnership with Daniel & Babi Stephan of Push the Rock sports ministries. They are sharing the hope, love, and message of Jesus Christ
with at-risk youth living in the Sao Paulo region through their tennis and evangelism program.
We believe that Christ, in whose name we go to reach the nations with the truth of the Gospel, has all authority, and nothing can stop Him from accomplishing the task that remains. May our passion for God’s global glory and His Gospel gain more momentum as we live out the Great Commission together.
