What is 24 Hours of Service all about?

24 Hours is an overnight service experience. We have time for worship, studying God's Word, and playing games. But, the focus of the weekend is time spent caring for the needs of others. This year, we will be going down to Philadelphia to partner with Cornerstone Church, who we will be visiting for our Summer Missions Trip. All parents are invited to come with us if you would like to check out what we will be doing in the summer. We are asking $20 per student for the trip, but this is not a FEE, it's a donation, so we ask that the students donate from their own money.

FAQs

Are the participants fasting? No, we find that students who don’t eat are quite miserable. It’s hard to serve when all you are thinking about is gorging yourself at the end of the day.

Where is everyone sleeping? The girls are sleeping at Calvary and the boys are sleeping at someone's home (yet TBD..... want to volunteer your house?).

Do the student have to donate $20? They do not have to, but as a part of this experience we want students to give an amount of their own money that would be a sacrificial amount for a student. ALL of that money is being put into the Student Missions Fund which will be used to make future missions trips affordable.

What are the kids doing in the service project? We are partnering with Productive Lives—the same group as our summer mission trip. We will go to Cornerstone Church, in Philadelphia, to serve the church (e.g. cleaning, painting, etc.).

Is it unsafe?
At no time will any student be alone without the supervision of one of our youth leaders.
